It is reported that on the evening of October 29, a large-scale stampede accident occurred in the Litai Hospital, Longshan District, Seoul, South Korea. So far, 151 people have been killed and 82 injured. What safety precautions should be paid attention to when entering crowded places? How to protect yourself in case of crowding and stampede? Liu Bingtao, Chief of the Press and Publicity Section of Daxing District Fire Rescue Detachment of Beijing, gave the following six safety tips——
1. When entering a densely populated area, first understand the terrain, find the emergency exit and evacuation passage, and remember the evacuation direction indicated by the arrow.
2. If you find that a large number of people are coming towards you, try to avoid them and hide aside, or squat in the corner nearby, waiting for the crowd to leave.
3. Once entering the crowd, do not stop in the crowd. Don't go against the trend, or you will be easily pushed down. Don't rashly lift your shoes, bend down to pick up things and tie your shoelaces.
4. Keep calm and stabilize the center of gravity to prevent falling. Move to the side as far as possible to remove people. If possible, grasp the solid objects around you.
5. When the crowd is extremely crowded, the left hand should hold the fist, the right hand should hold the left wrist, and the elbows should be stretched flat in front of the chest to form a certain space to ensure breathing. When you see someone fall down, stop moving forward, shout for help, and tell the people behind to stay away.
6. Once you fall, bend your knees forward as far as possible to protect the important organs in your chest and abdomen, and lie on your side. The hands and fingers are interlocked to protect the back of the head and neck. Keep your elbows forward and protect your temples on both sides. At the same time, try to get close to the corner.
